FIFA president Gianni Infantino sends Somalia condolence

The president of FIFA, Giani Infantino, has expresses sadness over the recent death of Somali football legend and former Ocean Stars head coach, Hussein Ali Abdulle.


In his condolence letter addressed to the president of Somali Football Federation, Abdiqani Said Arab, FIFA president, Gianni Infantino, said that it was a great sadness to learn of the recent passing of Somalian legend, Hussein Ali Abdulle.


"On behalf of FIFA and the worldwide football family, I wish to extend our deepest condolences to the Somalian football community and, most importantly, to his family, friends and Ioved ones. We hope that, in some way, our words of support may help bring them a little peace and solace in this time of sadness” FIFA president said in his message titled on "In memory of Hussein Ali Abdulle”.



The former Ocean Stars head coach was one of the country’s most renowned footballers in the 19605 and 19705 and represented Somalia in many international football competitions.


The late Abdulle, had lent a forceful commitment to the promotion of Somalia for more than half a century. He will mainly be remembered for his contribution in the protection of Somalia football from collapse after the country fell into anarchy in 1991.
