Liido Sea Food restaurant has won the country's 2013 football stars tournament after defeating their SingJet rivals by 1-0 in a hotly-contested match on Thursday. As shown in the front page photo the competition gathered six teams all sponsored by local companies.

The first half of the competitive match ended in 0-0, but in the early minutes of the second half Mohamed Abdulkader Sharif scored the golden goal for his team in the 49thminute of the match.

Despite they lost in their attempt to win Thursday’s match, the Sing Jet boys have performed well and as a result they were given no cautions in the 90 minutes of the match. They were many times taking counter attacks on the opposite goal, but however they didn’t happen to reach their target.

Somali Football Federation Secretary General Abdi Qani Said Arab who talked to the media at the stadium said that the tournament ended successfully and Somali FA achieved its goal in the organization of the two week-long competition which he said had three main goals for his federation.

The secretary General noted that his federation will next week organize a colourful ceremony during which the trophy will be presented to the Liido Sea Food team. Other awards including medals and cash will be presented to the best player, the top score and other players who showed fair play during the tournament.

However the below cautions were given to some of the Liido Sea Food players during Thursday’s match.
