The bosses of four Somali Football Clubs are in Djibouti to encourage Ocean Stars ahead of their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier clash against Zimbabwe.

It is the first time in history that four football club chairmen travel abroad in a bid to cheer the National Football squad. They are Abdullahi Elmi Mahmoud, chairman of Rajo Football Club, Abdirizak Farah Omar (Goroje) chairman of Elman SC, Ali Omar Hassan, chairman of Hilaac FC and Abukar Mohamed who is the chairman of Mogadishu City Club.

Elman SC chairman Abdirizak Farah, whose son, Yonis Farah is member of the national team is also accompanied in Djibouti by his elder son Yusuf Farah, meaning that an entire football family is in Djibouti for a national duty.

"We have decided to come to Djibouti to give support, confidence and hope to our flag carriers who will be facing Zimbabwe this evening in the first leg of the 2022 FIFA World Club qualifier” Rajo FC chairman Abdullahi Elmi Mahmoud said.

Somalia is hosting Zimbabwe in Djibouti which has been Somalia’s second home country as the war-ravaged nation is not yet ready to host international competitions. In return, Zimbabwe will host Somalia for the second leg of the qualifier which is slated for September 8 in Harare.
