The Somali Diaspora Cultural and Sports Association Team will
travel from London via Dubai and is due in the capital Mogadishu on Wednesday 17thof October, according to a joint statement by the country’s ministry for youth
and sport and Somali Football Federation.
The team will stay in the country for a period of two
weeks during which they will have friendly matches with four Somali Premier
League sites according to Shaafici Islaw, a spokesman for Somali football
Federation.
According to the joint statement, the team will engage in their first training session on Thursday at the National Football Technical Centre, before they clash Elman FC in the first of four competitive matches against Premier League giants on Friday.
The statement said that other clubs who are ready for
encountering the Somali Diaspora team include Heegan Sports Club, Dekedda
Sports Club and the Somali military site Horseed Sports Club.
During their stay in the country, the Somali Diaspora
football team will be invited to several luncheons and dinner ceremonies which
as scheduled will take place in different locations in the country.
