The State’s minister for youth and Sport, Mr. Osman
Hussein Haji attended the conclusion ceremony during which the winners of the
league Kisima Football Team who won the league were awarded with a beautiful trophy,
prize money and medals.
The successful end of the Jubbaland Football League has
marked a new era of a complete recovery of football in a region that was once
well-known for the beautiful game in Somalia.
The president of the Jubbaland Football Association, Mr. Ahmed Farah Taqal who first addressed at the conclusion ceremony, said that 240 players representing eight football clubs competed in the league during which 56 competitive matches were played.
"We have come to the successful end of the 2017-2018
football season of the year and I would like to thank Somali Football Federation
for all the assistance they provided us and without the help from the SFF, we couldn’t
approach such success” Mr. Ahmed Farah Taqal, said in his address.
"I would like to call on business community in Jubbaland
to invest in football, because we all know that football brings peace and helps
generate income” Jubbaland football Association president Ahmed Farah Taqal
said.
On his side, Somali Football Federation president,
Abdiqani Said Arab, stated that the efforts by the SFF over the years have
produced a very tangible victory as the Jubbaland State’s football saw a full
recovery. "The State’s football league has been held in a very successful way
without any sponsorship and this shows that our people love football and are
committed to the development of the game” SFF president said.
"What we have witnessed is motivating us and I announce
that the SFF will continue education seminars and other development activities
in the region, because every year we want to see signs showing that we are
going up from where we were in the previous year” President Abdiqani Said Arab,
noted.
After the conclusion ceremony, president Abdiqani Said
Arab and his delegation together with regional football administrators toured
the main stadium in the Jubbaland State to study the situation of the facility.
The president also visited the Jubbaland Football Association headquarters.
